Guidelines for Discovering Your Universal Account Number (UAN)
To activate your UAN, you must first obtain your Universal Account Number; only then will you be able to proceed with the activation process. To retrieve your UAN number, please follow the steps outlined below:
- First, go to the EPFO Member Portal at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
- Visit the homepage, navigate to the “Important Link” section, and select “Access your UAN information.”
- Please input the mobile number you registered (during UAN generation), enter the captcha code, and select the “Request OTP” option.
- You will receive an OTP on your registered number. Please enter the received OTP along with a captcha for verification.
- Please provide the required information, including your name, date of birth (DOB), Aadhaar/PAN/member ID, and the captcha for verification. Once entered, click on the “Show my UAN” button.

- Provide the required information, including your UAN/member ID, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth (DOB), mobile number, and captcha code. After entering these details, proceed to click on the “Get Authorization PIN” button.
- An authorization PIN will be sent to your Aadhar-linked mobile number.
- Enter that pin in the required area and then click on “Validate OTP and Activate UAN”
Thereafter, your UAN number is activated. You will receive a password on your mobile number. Using your UAN and password received on mobile, log in to your EPF account.
